Description

Dubai Dancing Fountain

Dubai Fountain is a dancer fountain located in the vicinity of the Dubai Mall in front of Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Dubai fountain is designed using a water system, and occupies 30 acres of artificial Burj Khalifa Lake in downtown Dubai.

These fountains are designed by a California-based company, the company responsible for managing the Pelagio hotel fountains in the Las Vegas Valley.

Dubai fountains are equipped with 6,600 lighting units and 25 color displays, which are 275 meters high and spew water in the air for up to 240 feet accompanied by international and Arab musical instruments. The cost of constructing and operating these fountains is about AED 800 million or US $ 218 million.

The name was chosen based on a competition organized by Emaar, and the result was announced on October 26, 2009. The fountains testing began in February 2009 and officially opened on May 8, 2009 with the inauguration of the Dubai Mall.
