Description

Archeology Museum Al Sufouh Archaeological Site is an archaeological site located in the Al Sufouh area of ​​Dubai, owned and operated by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. The site is characterized by the presence of heavy concentrations of burnt ash, snails, pottery and bone. Archaeological excavations carried out at the site between 1994 and 1995 revealed a circular tomb of the Umm al-Nar culture tomb type, dating back to 2500 and 2000 BC. The tomb is circular, 6.5 m in diameter, built of unworked stone blocks and faced with a single outer ring wall of well-built hewn (square) stone. Its closest skeletal counterparts are those found in Hili and Umm al-Nar Archaeological Park. Ceramic vessels dating back to the Umm al-Nar era, bronze weapons, and large quantities of beads were also found at the site.
